Late Breaking Abstracts Announcement: ACT's 39th Annual Meeting

By David Compton posted 07-25-2018 12:06 PM

ACT is providing an opportunity for members and non-members to present late breaking abstracts (LBAs) at the 39th Annual Meeting this year, based on the guidelines below.

Late Breaking Abstract Submission Period:
August 1–September 15 (11:59 PM ET)

LBA Submission Requirements:

Abstract: The LBA data submitted must be novel, new, and/or of sufficient scientific relevance to merit special consideration.

Word Count: The LBA has the same word count limitation as general poster session abstracts. No more than 250 words in length—not including Title, Authors, or Institutions. This limit includes all text, spaces, and punctuation. Please submit in a Word Document format. Please refer to the ACT Poster Guidelines for required formatting.

Cover letter: Extenuating circumstances must be explained, describing why the standard abstract submission was not possible.

Examples of extenuating circumstances may include, but are not limited to:
  • Recent completion of a critical experiment
  • Personal reasons (death in family, serious illness, etc.)
  • Late approval for funding and/or attendance

Submission Deadline: Abstract and cover letter must be received by September 15. Please email completed submissions with “Late Breaking Abstract Submission” in the Subject line to ACT's Program Manager, Jordan Ballance: jballance@actox.org

Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

Notification of acceptance will be sent following approval, but no later than October 1, 2018. Late Breaking Abstracts will not be published in the ACT printed Program. They will be available in electronic format via the ACT Annual Meeting Mobile App. They will be published in the January/February International Journal of Toxicology issue with the general poster session abstracts (provided actually presented during the ACT Annual Meeting, as required for all published abstracts).

*Limited meeting space may preclude acceptance of all submitted LBAs.

Remember to register for ACT's 39th Annual Meeting in Palm Beach, Florida, November 4–7, 2018.
