Abstract Submission

For those of you who have been clinging to the edge of your seats in suspense, the wait is over! The American College of Toxicology opened the abstract submission system on May 1, providing the opportunity to present a poster at the 2016 Annual Meeting. This year ACT will be hosting two poster sessions: Poster Session I with Wine and Cheese and Poster Session II with Champagne Breakfast. Both sessions will feature a variety of topics, including General Toxicology, Regulatory Toxicology, Safety Evaluation Nonpharmaceuticals, Toxicology Methods, and Safety Evaluation Pharmaceuticals. Authors will present at one session, not both. Attendees are encouraged to visit both sessions to see some of the latest and innovative work in the field.

There is an added bonus for graduate students who submit an abstract, as they may apply for a limited number of ACT Student Travel Awards in the amount of $1000. Recipients must present a poster at the Annual Meeting. Those graduate students applying for a travel award will also be considered for the Furst Award and will have their meeting registration fee waived. This award, established through a generous contribution from the late Dr. Arthur Furst, is given to the author of the Best Student Poster at the Annual Meeting. It consists of a $2000 travel award and plaque.

The deadline for all submissions is July 1, 2016 (11:59 pm, Eastern Daylight Time). After the deadline closes, the Program Committee will thoroughly review each abstract. Notification of acceptance and poster session assignment will be emailed to the submitting author, during the week of August 1. Graduate students applying for the Furst Award must present their poster to the Awards Committee on Sunday evening, 5:00 pm–6:30 pm, November 6, 2016. ACT_Poster2015_c.png
