Announcement from IUTOX

By Elisa Turner posted 05-18-2015 08:12 AM

IUTOX’s standing as an NGO with WHO gives them the opportunity to share in their vast resources and programming, which contributes to the betterment of societies everywhere. An important WHO initiative is World No Tobacco Day, marked every year on May 31. One in every 10 cigarettes, and many other tobacco products, consumed worldwide are illegal, making the illicit trade of tobacco products a major global concern from many perspectives. This year’s campaign calls on all countries to stop illicit trade of tobacco products as a way of slowing the deadly smoking epidemic, which kills nearly 6 million people each year.

The article and WHO link below provide a great deal of information about World No Tobacco Day. IUTOX asks you to join them in advancing this tobacco free initiative, which also furthers their mission of improving the health of humans and their environment.
