In January, a new ToxChats© podcast series on Alternative and Nontraditional Species was launched. The latest episode, The Use of Transgenic and Disease Mouse Animal Models for Toxicology Studies, is now available to stream online. Previous topics in the series include the use of minipigs, sheep as an alternative model, the advantages and challenges of using rabbits, and the fertilized egg model.
In this ToxChats© podcast, we spoke with Dr. René Meisner, Head of Safety Assessment at Denali Therapeutics, on using both transgenic and disease mouse models in a drug development program. Topics include considerations for program design, regulatory interactions, and the role of these mice moving forward.
ToxChats© episodes report on cutting-edge news in toxicological research from around the globe, and feature interviews with experts and reviews of current advances in toxicology. Tune in to learn about breakthroughs and regulatory developments in toxicological research, and more! We welcome any feedback or suggestions for future topics.
Previous ToxChats© episodes are available on the ACT website and select episodes can also be found on iTunes and Google (search ToxChats).
