Submit an Award Nomination for a Deserving Toxicologist

The American College of Toxicology recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding toxicologists at the Awards Ceremony held during the ACT Annual Meeting. All nominations received from an ACT member in good standing, by the required deadline, will be reviewed by the Awards Committee. Nominations should include clear justification to support the nomination and include a curriculum vitae.

Use the online award system to complete your nomination or application for self-nomination. The criteria for each award are listed below:

 

Award Description/Criteria
Distinguished Scientist Award in Toxicology Recognizes an individual (not necessarily an ACT member) who has made an outstanding contribution to toxicology, improving public health and/or the environment. The DSA recipient is the keynote speaker at the Awards Ceremony during the Annual Meeting.
Mildred Christian Women’s Leadership in Toxicology Award The Mildred Christian Women’s Leadership in Toxicology Award is presented to a woman who has made a difference in advancing the science and practice of toxicology and who has attained significant recognition as a global leader in this field.

Nominees should be women who demonstrate devotion to the ACT mission of to educate, lead, and serve. Candidates must be a current member of the College.
Service Award Recognizes an ACT member for their long-term dedication, noteworthy contributions, and service to ACT. Candidates are selected based on their frequent contribution to the Annual Meeting and longstanding support of the College’s activities and mission.
Carol C. Lemire Unsung Hero Award Recognizes an ACT member who has made substantive unrecognized contributions to ACT. The nominee should have demonstrated on-going willingness to help with ACT activities and its mission, generally from “behind the scenes.” This person cannot have held an elected Council office within the past two years.
Early Career Professional Award Recognizes an ACT member who has made substantive unrecognized contributions to ACT. The nominee should have demonstrated on-going willingness to help with ACT activities and its mission, generally from “behind the scenes.” This person cannot have held an elected Council office within the past two years.
Best Paper Published in International Journal of Toxicology Recognizes the authors of the best paper published in the journal. Papers that will be eligible for the Best Paper award will be those published in the previous calendar year.
